Heating Solutions

De-carbonizing the heating process requires displacement of fossil-based fuels and replacement with a renewable heat source. Heat pump technology is the leading and most cost-efficient technology available to enable this operational shift.

Clients are encouraged to contact Solid Energy for assistance when deciding if heat pumps are suitable for their application. The listed bespoke systems are only a partial list of the tailored systems we offer our clients.

With heat pumps from Solid energy you get:

Highest possible efficiency
Guaranteed output and effectiveness

The heat pumps can use all energy sources: outdoor air, waste water, groundwater, lake or sea water, etc.
Outdoor air is perhaps the least yielding source of heat, but it is accessible everywhere. Yet the combination of high effectiveness and the possibility for operation on natural gas results in competitive heating prices.
For example, a gas engine-driven air/water heat pump from Solid energy produces heat for less than 200 kroner/MWh (at a 70°C delivery temperature and a natural gas price of 1.5 kroner/m³) with taxation in Denmark.

Solid energy guarantees both output and effectiveness when the heat pump’s heat source and desired delivery temperature are known.

Adjustable air/water heat pumps

Our natural gas engine-driven heat pumps are designed with the highest possible COP (Coefficient of Productivity) and thereby the lowest possible heating prices.

The heat pumps have the opportunity of operating on both gas and electricity, which makes it possible to fit renewable energy into the district heating sector. Thus, the heat pumps are future-orientated, as the operation can be optimised according to the regulatory framework and market prices.

With the two motors, powered by electricity and gas respectively, you consequently have the opportunity of choosing the energy source which, at a given time, can produce the cheapest heat.

Product programme

Solid energy’s standard product programme for air/water heat pumps can be delivered from approx. 0.4 MW to 2.2 MW heat output, measured at 7°C outdoor air temperature and 70°C delivery temperature.

If more output is desired, the heat pump can easily be set up in parallel with the desired output without compromising on the efficiency.

Output and efficiency are reported at an outdoor temperature of 7°C, which is also the weighted average temperature in Denmark. The heat pump can deliver heat at cold temperatures without problem, but the efficiency is obviously highest when it’s warm outside.

Liquid/water heat pumps

Our gas engine-driven heat pumps are designed with the highest possible COP and thus the lowest possible cost for heat and/or cooling.

The heat pumps have the opportunity for operating on both gas and electricity, which makes it possible to fit renewable energy into the production of cooling and/or heat. The heat pump is thus future-orientated, as the operation can be optimised according to the regulatory framework and the market prices.

The heat pump solutions are uniform in structure with the air/water heat pumps. They have the same components and control system. It’s only the ammonia cooling cycle that’s not the same. The air coolers are not necessary, as the solutions typically cool with a heat exchanger.

Product programme

Solid energy’s standard product programme for liquid/water heat pumps can be delivered from approx. 0.4 MW to 2.1 MW heat output, if the cooling should be 3°C and the delivery temperature should be 70°C.

If more output is desired, the heat pump can be set up in parallel with the desired output without compromising on the efficiency.

The output and efficiency are reported at a cooling of the heat source to 3°C and 13°C respectively. The heat pump can deliver heat at other temperature pairs. Output and efficiency therefore depend on the heat source and how much cooling is necessary.
